On 2. & 3. of March 2019 we will be opening our Cellar Door for the first time - coinciding with the "Open Vineyard Weekend" in Tasmania's South and East.

Charles Reuben Estate is a vineyard and Lavender farm close to historic Richmond in Tasmania's Coal River Valley wine region. Our location at Tea Tree is a five minute drive north west of Richmond (under eight kilometres) and only 30 minutes north of Hobart (35 kilometres). The estate is under new management since the start of 2014. The vineyard consists of approximately 10 000 25 year old vines.

We have also finished renovating the "Pinot Cottage" late in 2014 and it is now available as a tourist accommodation.  The "Pinot Cottage" is a secluded self contained timber cottage with 2 bedrooms, full European kitchen, spa and wood fire.

Please see the menu "Accommodation" for pictures, prices and online booking facilities. Come back regularly to check on our offers and the constantly evolving website - or contact us via the menu above if you have questions or want to register your interest in staying with us.

There is lots to do around our area and we are ideally situated for day trips to many of the main tourist destinations of Tasmania.

Keep in mind though that shops in Richmond are generally closing early and that it is difficult to buy food or go out for dinner late in the evening. But why not stock up with fresh sea food or nice cheese on the way and enjoy it in the cottage. The kitchen is very well equiped for any meal.

There are many interesting places around Hobart and there is something for everybody

  • Many people like the Museum "Mona"
  • "Salamanca" market is very popular too.
  • In Richmond, very close to the accommodation are historic buildings, cafes and craft shops.
  • Of course there are many wineries, distilleries and great food producers in our area
  • "Mount Wellington" is a great short trip with fantastic views over Hobart and surrounds.
  • The east coast of Tasmania is stunningly beautiful for a nature trip to e.g. "Swan Sea" or "Coles Bay"
  • There is also the historic "Port Arthur" which is about 1.5 hours drive to the Tasman Peninsula.

Nearby

  • Wildlife parks: ZooDo (2 minutes) and Bonorong (10 minutes)
  • Richmond:
    • Bridge
    • Old Gaol
    • BBQ facilities
