There is lots to do around our area and we are ideally situated for day trips to many of the main tourist destinations of Tasmania.

Keep in mind though that shops in Richmond are generally closing early and that it is difficult to buy food or go out for dinner late in the evening. But why not stock up with fresh sea food or nice cheese on the way and enjoy it in the cottage. The kitchen is very well equipped for any meal.

There are many interesting places around Hobart and there is something for everybody

  • Many people like the Museum "Mona"

  • "Salamanca" market is very popular too.

  • In Richmond, very close to the accommodation are historic buildings, cafes and craft shops.

  • Of course there are many other wineries, distilleries and great food producers in our area

  • "Mount Wellington" is a great short trip with fantastic views over Hobart and surrounds.

  • The east coast of Tasmania is stunningly beautiful for a nature trip to e.g. "Swan Sea" or "Coles Bay"

  • There is also the historic "Port Arthur" which is about 1.5 hours drive to the Tasman Peninsula.

  • Wildlife parks: ZooDo (2 minutes) and Bonorong (10 minutes)

  • Richmond:

    • Bridge
    • Old Gaol
    • BBQ facilities
    • Lolly shop
    • Bakery
    • Pub
    • Paddle boat & bike hire
    • Art & Craft shops
    • Antiques
    • Maze
  • Vineyard tour of the Coal River Valley (which produces some of the best Australian wines)

We are also ideally situated for trips to

  • Hobart

  • Port Arthur

  • Tasman Peninsula

  • East Coast of Tasmania

  • Wine Glass Bay

  • Huon Valley

  • Bruny Island
